The web series ‘Delhi Crime’ has been a big effort for Netflix to establish its foothold in India. Showcasing the hard work of the police officers involved in the investigation of Delhi’s Nirbhaya case, this series was highly praised in the country and abroad. It also won the Best Drama Series award at the 48th Emmy Awards. But, people are wondering why the second season of the series, whose first season has been aired in the first quarter of 2019, has been delayed so much?
The shooting of the second season of the web series ‘Delhi Crime’ has been completed according to its cast. A lot of the film’s work was finished last year before the Corona transition period started. It was expected that after the unlock last year, the rest of its work will also be finished and it will be broadcast early this year. But, in the meantime, there is a ruckus in the Mumbai office of Netflix. All the senior officers of the company have been leaving from there one after the other. The series being made as a prequel to the films of ‘Bahubali’ series also fell victim to this upheaval and it was decided to remake this entire series.
The same situation is now seen in the second season of ‘Delhi Crime’. Sources reveal that the creative team of Netflix has suggested all the revisions in this series anew. Some new writers have been hired to revise the story of the second season and due to this its airing has been postponed. Nothing is being said from Netflix about this, but after the broadcast of the first season of a web series, its next season is not being aired even after the shooting is giving a chance to all kinds of speculations. Netflix has also started re-scrutinizing some more programs and films that have recently been approved by the executives who left the company.
