A video of Rajinikanth’s fans is going viral on social media, in which they are seen killing a goat. Later these people sprinkled goat’s blood on the first look poster of Rajinikanth’s next film Annaathe. This incident has termed this action of the fans as sheer cruelty towards animals.
It is worth noting that the poster of Rajinikanth’s film has been released 4 days ago i.e. on the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi. This incident happened on the same day, the video of which has now surfaced.
Rajinikanth is a native of Tamil Nadu, where there is a tradition known as ‘Palabhishekam’. Under this tradition, people offer milk to the idols in the temple. Similarly, the fans of top stars also worship the actors like God by pouring milk on their posters. Yet what happened was a tradition that was nowhere to be heard.
Although this is not the first time this has happened. Before this, even at the time of the release of Rajni’s film 2.0, the fans had sacrificed goats. At the same time, on the birthday of actor Kicha Sudeep, his fans had sacrificing buffalo and his blood was sprinkled on Sudeep’s poster.
Talking about the video that went viral on social media, VM Sudhakar of All India Rajinikanth Rasikar Mandram (Fans Club) said that “It is not only regrettable, but we strongly condemn it.” He appealed to the fans- “We request that no one should be involved in such heinous acts.”
Annaatthe is an upcoming action drama film by Rajinikanth, whose story is written and directed by Shiva. The film stars Meena, Khushboo, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh along with Rajinikanth and Jackie Shroff, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Vela Ramamurthy and Suri in the lead roles. The film is scheduled to release this Diwali on November 4.
