South Indian Superstar Dhanush upcoming film tamil is going to be release on OTT. The first National Award winner ‘Asuran’ was seen by the people. Then a few days ago ‘Karanan’ was released and now ‘Jagme Thandiram’. The son of director Kasturi Raja, known as Venkatesh Prabhu in his childhood, has earned fame in acting as Dhanush and feels that his new film would have been better if it had been released in theaters instead of OTT. The news of Reliance Entertainment handing over another film ‘Jagme Thandiram’ to OTT was first reported by ‘Amar Ujala’ in the month of February. The trailer of the film, directed by actor Dhanush’s director Karthik Subbaraj, was released on Tuesday. This film is going to premiere on OTT Netflix on 18th June.
Reliance Entertainment first sold its film ‘The Girl on the Train’ to Netflix in order to recover its costs stuck in films and maintain its annual balance sheet. The film ‘Jagme Thandiram’ is produced by Reliance Entertainment and its South’s joint company Y Not Studios. Reliance’s partnership with Y Not Studios is similar to that of Immitaz Ali’s Window Seat Films, Madhu Mantena’s Phantom, Rohit Shetty’s Rohit Shetty Pictures, etc. for Hindi films.
Karti Subbaraj, director of the film ‘Jagme Thandiram’ says, ‘This film is my dream film. This is a scripted film which is very close to my heart. It was very important to get this story to the people. Now this film has got a new medium to reach the audience. I too am eager to know the reaction of people about this story of Ek Atrangi Duniya (‘Jagme Thandiram’). The fame of James Cosmo is a lot among the youth due to the web series ‘Game of Thrones’.
