Tamil Nadu Shows The Impact Of Elephant Whispers Winning Oscar

The Elephant Whispers has won the title of Best Documentary Film at the Oscar Awards 2023 held on 13 March. After seeing this success of the film, Tamil Nadu government has taken a decision in favor of elephants and their caretakers.

In fact, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that under the scheme, a new elephant camp with basic facilities will now be built at Coimbatore Chavadi at a cost of Rs 8 crore. At the same time, CM MK Stalin has said to give Rs 1-1 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the caretakers protecting the elephants.

Let us tell you that in this documentary film, the caretaker couple of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Boman and Bailey Lead have played the lead roles. Appreciating the performance, the Tamil Nadu government has announced Rs 1 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the mahouts taking care of all the 91 elephants in the two camps in the state. Along with this, financial assistance of Rs 9.8 crore has been given for the construction of houses for mahouts.

India’s film ‘The Elephant Whispers’ has received the Oscar Award for Best Documentary Short Film. The director of this film is Kartiki Gonsalves and producer is Guneet Monga. The bonding between humans and animals is shown in this short film of 39 minutes.
