There is hardly anyone who loves comedy TV shows, Gutthi, who is not familiar with the names of Rinku Bhabhi and Dr Mashuhar Gulati. Comedian Sunil Grover’s identity is this character. This character of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ gave him popularity overnight. But now, apart from comedy, Sunil is also trying his hand in some different characters. Sunil was born on 3 August 1977 in Dabwali, Haryana. He did his schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir Dabwali, while furthering from Guru Nanak College. Sunil Grover’s father JN Grover was a manager in State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur. Now he is retired.

After doing PG from the theater department of Panjab University, Sunil came to Mumbai to try his luck in acting. Before joining TV, Sunil worked in Radio Mirchi, a radio station in Delhi. He hosted his popular series ‘Hasee Ke Fabbare’ for Radio Mirchi, in which his character’s name was Sudarshan. Sudarshan was known for presenting ridiculous jokes in a funny way.

Sunil made his film debut with the film ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’. His talent was recognized by famous comedian Jaspal Bhatti, after which Sunil got offers from many shows.

According to Sunil, he narrates all his jokes to wife Aarti before performing anywhere. If she laughs then Sunil performs on those jokes and if she does not laugh then understands that that joke will not play in front of the audience. Sunil’s wife Aarti is an interior designer by profession and both have a son.
