After South’s KGF-2, now Hollywood film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is rocking the Indian box office. Made in a budget of Rs 1722 crores, this film has now done business of about 80 crores from India in just three days. With this ‘Doctor Strange’ has become the fourth highest grossing Hollywood film of the first weekend in India.
Taran Adarsh shared the post on social media and said that Benedict Cumberbatch starrer, which released on May 6 (Friday), did a business of Rs 25.40 crore from India on the third day (Sunday). Earlier, the film had earned Rs 25.75 crore on the second day (Saturday) and Rs 28.35 crore on the first day (Friday).
Accordingly, the film has made a box office collection of Rs 79.50 crore from India in the first weekend i.e. three days. Taran expects ‘Doctor Strange’ to do well on Monday. The film has also become the fourth highest grossing Hollywood film of the first weekend in India. The film ‘Avengers Endgame’ has so far held the highest collection on the first weekend among Hollywood films released so far in the country.
At the same time, ‘Doctor Strange’ has also become the fourth biggest Hollywood opener in India. In this list, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (53.10 crores) released in the year 2019 is at number one. After this, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (32.67 crores) released in the year 2021 is second and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (31.30 crores) which came in the year 2018 is at number three.
‘Doctor Strange’ did a business of more than Rs 3486 crore worldwide on the opening day. At the same time, the film earned 277 crores ($ 36 million) on the opening-day only from the US.
