Mumbai’s Esplanade Court refuses to grant relief to Raj Kundra in pornography case. The bail plea of Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe has been rejected by the court. The Mumbai Crime Branch had sought more time to interrogate Raj Kundra due to new revelations happening every day. A day earlier, he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Kundra’s plea, filed through Consequence Law Associates, said several persons were arrested and later released on bail after the incident of making and publishing obscene material came to light. The petition said that after conducting a search at Raj’s office on July 19, the crime branch called him to the Byculla office on the pretext of recording his statement. However, on reaching there, he was arrested.
After the filing of the first chargesheet, many things have come to the fore regarding the porn film business. Raj Kundra had set a target for the company. He was aiming to earn Rs 34 crore from these adult films by 2023. The revenue target for the financial year 2023-24 was set at Rs 146 crore. There was also a preparation to earn a net profit of Rs 34 crore in this.
The chargesheet also details the earnings estimates for the years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Raj Kundra’s company was planning to earn Rs 36.50 crore in revenue and Rs 4.76 crore net profit from this business in 21-22. While the gross revenue for 2022-2023 was estimated at Rs 73 crore.
