Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to name two new records in the next one days. Today is his 2,273rd day as Prime Minister. Modi is PM for the last 6 years, two months and 20 days. Atalji was also the Prime Minister for the same number of days in his three terms. The second record will be made on August 15 at Red Fort. When Modi hoists the flag for the 7th time, he will overtake Atalji.
Modi’s long tenure as PM has been of only three people. Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. All three were from Congress. The longest Prime Minister’s record is in the name of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru was Prime Minister for 16 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Even if Modi becomes PM in 2024, Indira and Nehru will not be able to break the record. For this, he will have to complete his third term and become PM again in 2029. This is difficult to happen. Because by 2029, Modi would have been 78 years old. The Prime Minister says that leaders should get away from electoral politics after 75 years. In such a situation, even after BJP’s victory, Modi’s chances of becoming PM are very less.
