South’s superstar Vijay Deverakonda recently shared a glimpse of his look from his upcoming film ‘Liger’ on social media. His look was quite surprising. According to Vijay’s personal trainer Kuldeep Sethi, behind this look, Vijay has worked hard for almost a year.
The trainer said that playing the role of a boxer in the film ‘Liger’ has been extremely challenging for him, both mentally and physically. In the film, he plays the role of a slum dweller in Mumbai, who participates in an MMA (mixed martial arts) championship.
During an exclusive conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, celebrity fitness trainer Kuldeep Sethi said, “Vijay usually sports a lean and toned look, but for ‘Liger’ he has completely transformed himself. Had trained hard for more than a year. Vijay started his transformation journey in December 2020. However, after 3-4 months of training, due to the lockdown, all gyms were closed and he had to do home workouts. Whereas, It was too limiting for his body to aim, but he didn’t stop himself.”
The trainer added, “Vijay used to work out at home with whatever equipment he used to have. Believe me, the journey was not easy, but Vijay made sure that he did not let his progress stop. Home during the lockdown But he also made sure to maintain his fitness. He indulged in many sports activities like volleyball, badminton and cricket. This kind of dedication he used to give in his training also. After almost a year, we needed the physique for the film. That’s what was achieved.”
Kuldeep further added that even though training is important for this look, nutrition has become his game changer. Regarding this, he says, “After fat loss, carb loading was very important to make the muscles look fuller. Carbohydrates are important when it comes to achieving a physique like Vijay Deverakonda in Liger and using them properly. is needed.”
The trainer said, “I also changed their nutrition. After some time I reduced their carbs and increased protein, lots of fiber and water. A lot of people do water cutting in this process, but I didn’t. We did. Instead, he did water cutting on the day of shooting and that too 50 per cent. It takes a lot of courage to show his body like this. For this, Vijay has worked hard on his entire body.
During the conversation, Kuldeep revealed that the team of the film had done a photo shoot about a year ago, when Vijay was already in good physique, but despite this the actor decided to take a month’s retraining. Kuldeep said, “During the photoshoot, Vijay was in good shape, but for this poster, the definition should have been clear. For this Vijay decided to take up training again.”
Kuldeep said, “We started training at the behest of Vijay and I suddenly changed his workout style a bit. For the photoshoot, it is important to have a micro look, which shows the muscles, it is also important to show a little cut. For this photo He trained again for about 21 days, the entire nutrition had to be changed.
The trainer added, “Vijay is the most obedient and disciplined person out of all the actor students I have. He never gives up and never questions. If I ask him to do 2 sets, he will never give up. Will do it without saying anything. If I recommend doing 10 sets, I will follow it immediately. He dedicates himself completely, which is very impressive.”
Apart from Vijay, Kuldeep has also trained Rashmika Mandanna. During the conversation, Kuldeep told about her, “Rashmika loves to workout, she is very passionate about it. She does a lot of workouts, sometimes dedicates her body for 2 hours a day.”
Regarding Rashmika Mandanna, Kuldeep further said, “I had advised her that she should also take some rest. Her body does not need so many workouts. I give her a maximum of one hour training session. She is very energetic. Huh.” Kuldeep has been training many superstars of South since 2005. He has been a part of the physical transformation of actors like Chiranjeevi, his son Ram Charan, Anushka Shetty, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, Sandeep Kishan etc.
