Bollywood Actor Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming film ‘Sardar Udham Singh’ has now taken the stand of OTT platform. The film’s shooting and post production ended last year itself. The film was earlier scheduled to be released on October 2, 2020, but could not be held due to the lockdown. Subsequently, the film’s producers decided to release it in theaters on 15 January this year, though that too could not happen. Eventually, the makers have decided to release the film on Amazon Prime Video in August of this year.
During the conversation, trade analyst Arun Mohan explains, “Sujit Sarkar is the first film maker to release his film ‘Gulabon Sitabho’ on OTT. He broke the chain to release big films in the theater itself. This digital stance has proved beneficial for them as well, so if they do a digital release of their film ‘Sardar Udham Singh’ this time too, then obviously they must have taken this decision with much thought. Working on the film. The film was to be released last year which could not be done. The release of the film was postponed due to the epidemic earlier this year. Looking at the situation today, the theater will reopen for 6 months to come. There are no chances. In such a situation, it is not right to wait for the film makers to keep their investments in mind. ”
This film by Vicky Kaushal is a biopic of the Indian revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh who killed former British India Lieutenant Governor Michael O Dyer in Britain. Udham Singh did this to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. General O. Dyer had ordered this firing, which was carried out by General Dyer. The film is directed by Sujeet Sarkar, while Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar are producing the film.
