Bollywood Yash Chopra Foundation has prepared to bear the full expenses of the vaccination of about 30 thousand workers of the cinema and TV industry. The Foundation has written in a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray that either he should be allowed to buy the vaccine or else the vaccine should be allotted. Foundation has stated that they would like to take full responsibility for their member association’s vaccine through the Federation of Western India Cine Employees Association (FWICE). They are also willing to bear the cost of transportation from vaccine to all logistics.
The lockdown has been implemented in Maharashtra from the third week of April. Then the government extended it till 15 May. Due to the lockdown, all the film and TV shooting has stopped. Because of this, employees belonging to different craft of cinema have become unemployed. Most people get money for their daily work.
FWICE Chief Advisor Ashok Pandit said, “We have sent the request of Yash Chopra Foundation to CM. We have stated in the letter that Yash Chopra Foundation will bear the cost of vaccination of 30000 employees registered in the association.
