Jimmy Shergill Reveal Why He Didn’t Wait For Lead Roles

Bollywood Actor Jimmy Shergill has completed 25 years in Bollywood this year. During a conversation in an interview, when Jimmy was asked how he was able to survive in the film industry for so many years, in response he said that he used to try to mold himself in all kinds of situations. He stuck to the options he made and then he said that it was the ‘best option’ for him at the time. Jimmy further said that he did not have the ‘luxury’ to wait for the roles of ‘Hero’ to arrive. So without thinking that he would only play lead roles, he did many ‘interesting’ roles.

Jimmy said, “I didn’t have anyone in this industry, so I showed my career in this way, that if I found something interesting, I did it, did not think that I would do only a hero and after that I was sitting at home for two years. I didn’t have all that luxury, so I had to choose all the roles that I finally did.”

Jimmy continued, “Many times people ask me, ‘What did you need? You were playing a good hero. Why did you need to do this small role? You got typecast because of that. Such roles are found.’ It’s been like that, it’s not like I’ve got anything on the plate.”

Jimmy Shergill started his film career in 1996 with the film ‘Maachis’, but in 2000 he got success with the film ‘Mohabbatein’. He has done supporting roles in many hit films including ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Special 26’. He was recently seen in ‘Caller Bum’ opposite Asha Negi. In this film, he has appeared in the role of a police officer.
