India Gets Special Honor At Cannes Film Festival

India has got another honor after Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was included in the jury panel of Cannes Film Festival. India will be included as the official ‘country of honour’ at this year’s Cannes festival. This is going to be the first time that the tradition of ‘Country of Honor’ has been started at the Cannes Film Market. In the coming times, this tradition will continue with different countries.

The Cannes festival will celebrate 75th anniversary this year, while by coincidence India is also celebrating 75 years of independence from British rule. Let us tell you that recently the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi met French President Emmanuel Macron. The festival will start from 17th May and will continue till 28th May.

Sharing this information, India’s Information and Broadcast Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said, ‘India has been officially selected as the Country of Honor at the Cannes Film Festival. We want to give one message at Cannes Film Festival that ‘India the Content Hub of the World’, we will present India in this direction.

Deepika Padukone’s name is also included in the jury panel list of Festival de Cannes this year. The information about this was shared by the actress herself on her Instagram post. Deepika also shared an official note from the festival. In which it was written, “Indian actress, social worker and producer Deepika Padukone is a huge star in her country. Deepika has worked in more than 30 feature films. She made her Hollywood debut with Vin Diesel in ‘XXX The Return of Xander Cage’. She started her production house ‘Ka Production’ with the film ‘Chhapaak’.
