Akshay Kumar & Emraan Hashmi Starrer ‘Selfie’ Shoot In Madhya Pradesh

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar has started shooting for his upcoming film 2 days back. It is a remake of Tamil film ‘Soorarai Potru’. Prior to that he was shooting for ‘Selfie’, the Hindi remake of Malayalam film ‘Driving License’ in Madhya Pradesh. Akshay was shooting for ‘Soorarai Potru’, so Emraan Hashmi on Tuesday shot for ‘Selfie’ without Akshay Kumar. Sources close to the film confirmed this. April 26 was the last day of the MP schedule of ‘Selfie’.

A source said, “Emraan Hashmi will be seen in the role of a motor vehicle inspector. Akshay Kumar will be seen in the role of a superstar. Emraan’s character is a ‘Jabra fan’ of that star. The film sees a clash between the star and his fan. Diana Penty and Nushrat Bharucha are in the role of the main lead actresses here. Incidentally, Nushrat Bharucha is also in the film ‘Ram Setu’ with Akshay Kumar. However, she is not opposite Akshay in ‘Selfie’. Here she is in Emraan Hashmi’s Wife. Akshay Kumar in ‘Selfie’ opposite Diana Penty.

70 percent of the shooting of ‘Selfie’ has been done at locations in Madhya Pradesh. Akshay has also done ‘Pad Man’ and ‘Oh My God 2’ in MP in recent years. Sources told about ‘Selfie’ that the MP schedule has been completed in Bhopal itself. The film has scenes of huge crowd of fans behind and around the star. Due to less Kovid cases, the crowd of fans was used in the film. In many scenes, four to five thousand junior artists of MP were cast as crowd. In terms of the entire film, work has been taken from 10 to 12 thousand junior artists in the film. Scenes involving four to five thousand junior artists have been shot at Bhopal’s Barkatullah University and Lal Parade Ground.

‘Selfie’ will be Emraan Hashmi’s third such film, where he will be seen clashing with the star cast of the industry. In the past, as Dawood Ibrahim, he had a clash with Ajay Devgan in ‘Once Upon a Time’. Next, he will be seen clashing as an ISI agent of Pakistan in Salman Khan’s Against Tiger 3. Shahrukh Khan has a cameo in this film. In June, he will shoot for his part. However, Shah Rukh and Salman will clash in that portion. There is no clarity on whether Emraan’s character will be with or against both of them. However, Imran will clash with Akshay Kumar’s character in ‘Selfie’ as a fan.

It is interesting that these days either South Indian films like ‘KGF-2’ and ‘RRR’ have ruled the box office in North or many actors are busy in Hindi remakes of South Indian films. By the way, if you look at the figures, Akshay Kumar has the most remakes of South Indian films. Incidentally most of them have been hits. For example ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Rowdy Rathod’, ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Lakshmi’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and others. Except for Bachchan Pandey, most of Akshay’s South Indian remakes have been hits. In the second part of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, Karthik Aryan has replaced him.
