After South’s film ‘Pushpa’ and ‘RRR’, these days superstar Yash’s ‘KGF-2’ is continuously breaking records at the box office. It has been seen for a long time that instead of Bollywood, South’s films are making a splash in theatres. Not only this, the trend of remaking successful films of South is also going on in Bollywood for a long time. Bollywood is often trolled for this. Now Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his opinion only on remaking South’s films. Supporting the Bollywood industry, he said that exchanging ideas happens from both the sides.
Abhishek Bachchan said, “Bollywood does not remake South films due to lack of content. He further said, “Are you telling me that Hindi films are not being remade in South? This is an inappropriate question because whatever you say, the answer is defensive. We are all part of Indian film industry. We may work in different languages, but we are part of the same industry. We all work for the same audience. It is completely wrong to label any film industry. Hindi or any language movies have always been remade. This is not a new phenomenon. There has always been an exchange of content all the time. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
Talking about successful South films like ‘Pushpa’, ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF-2’, Abhishek said that these films have done well in Hindi as well. He further added, “At present these films are doing so well. But, they have always done well. Our films have done well in the South. This is not a new phenomenon. We are part of a big family, so the content is there. Exchanges are bound to happen. Exchanges don’t happen because there is a lack of ideas in a certain industry. It is a choice that we, as creators, make.”
